When I started blogging, one bonus I hadn’t anticipated was the social element that comes along with it. Being able to meet some lovely ladies with the same hobby as yourself is always great and super motivating. On Friday Sophie and I ventured to Lush in Coventry for a blogger meetup organized by the lovely Emily from Drained Beauty. If anyone is considering starting a blog, then add to your list of advantages making some new pals!
I’ll confess, I never thought I could fall in love with Lush. I’d assumed that it was out of the question for those with sensitive skin, and that it was not exactly student budget friendly. However now, I am officially a convert. The staff at the event were so knowledgeable about every single product (and believe you me, there are a lot!) that they were able to tell me instantly which products had sensitive skin friendly ingredients. I also discovered their shampoo bars, which at £5.75 and lasting between 60-80 washes are really good value, and promise to be a really luxury product too. I’d also never realised how they really are leading the way in ethical and environmentally friendly beauty products; minimum packaging, minimum animal products and no animal testing are all factors that they pride themselves on.
Throughout the evening we could explore the entire Lush range, and were also given the chance to make our own bathbomb. Lush was not the only brand I discovered however, as our generous goody bags included products from Crabtree and Evelyn, Skenetica, Nail HQ and Boomf. A big thanks goes out to Emily for organising the event, and if any local bloggers out there fancy coming along to the next meetup, be sure to get in touch with her.
