The die-hard fans of Good Girl Gone Brum out there (of which I know there are countless) may have noticed things have been a little quiet around here recently. Well, folks, it’s time to tell you that the whisperings on the streets of Birmingham are true – I’m saying goodbye to the blog.
I’ve had a blast writing on my little corner of the internet over the last 3 years; I’ve been lucky enough to attend some amazing events, try some awesome food and drink, and above all, meet some great people. Watching Birmingham’s food scene take off over the last couple of years has been a tonne of fun, and I hope I have contributed something worthwhile in my reviews, photographs and social media posts. Being part of the Birmingham blogging community, both in person and online, has played a big part in how I fell in love with the city and the decision to stay and settle here after graduation.
Now, however, it’s time to call it a day. It’s time to focus on new projects, ventures, and a different relationship with food. This blog has never been a place to share details of my self and my life, and I’m not going to start now – but for those of you who are curious I’d be happy to go into it, as ever, over a cocktail or two!
I want to thank every last person who has taken the time to support my blog. I appreciate every reader, retweet-er, and praise-singer – and of course the trusty cheerleaders who ‘like’ every link on Facebook or every photo on Instagram (I see you, it’s noted, you’re awesome). A shout-out also goes to the lovely PR folk that have been a pleasure to work with over the years. If you’re reading this then you have probably shown at least a mild awareness or even interest in this blog at some point, and that alone is a concept that brings me great joy – if not great bafflement – so thank you!
So, er, out of all the thousands of well chosen words I have written on this website (who knew there were so many ways to say I had a nice meal?!), I’m going to finish with the wise and timeless words of the Looney Tunes…That’s all folks!
